„Power of the Past - Force of the future“ is the motto of the 18th European Doctoral Conference in Nursing Science , which is a meeting point for PhD students from all over Europe. The EDCNS is organized by PhD students from the PhD-Program Nursing Science from the Medical University of Graz and Maastricht University in cooperation with Bern University of Applied Science. This year’s conference will be held in Graz, Austria on September 19th-21st, 2019.

Prof. Jan Hamers from Maastricht University with the topic “The Living Lab in Aging and Long-Term-Care; a Model for Collaborative Research”

Prof. Maya Zumstein-Shaha from the University of Applied Science Bern with the topic “The Meaning of Nursing – Theory for the Future of Nursing”
The three workshops deal with the topics “Healthcare Research and Social Media”, “Epidemiology in Nursing” and the “Translation of Philosophical Aspects of Phenomenology into Nursing Research”.
On Saturday, Prof. Adam Gordon from the University of Nottingham will be our keynote speaker. He is going to focus on dissemination of research. The topic of this keynote lecture is “Making Impact in the Real World: How we make our research count”.
The Saturday workshops cover the topics “Healthcare research and Social media”, “Epidemiology in Nursing” and “Guideline Development and GRADE”.
